Two local Charleston hockey families need some help through difficult times. Doug Horchler and Ian Chernisky, both part of the South Carolina hockey community, are currently facing challenging times.
Doug is the caretaker for his mother who has been given only 4-6 months to live. Due to helping his mother get the treatment she needs; Doug has been unable to work for the past few months. Doug is a local men’s league goalie who is willing to help anyone in need in the hockey community and now needs some help of his own.
Gunnar is seven years old and was diagnosed with Pandas Disease. It has taken a toll on Gunnar and the rest of the Chernisky family. Gunnar’s father Ian plays men’s league hockey at the Charleston Ice Palace and his brother plays local youth hockey.
